SFU Changemakers is a video interview series, hosted by Joy Johnson, VP Research and International, that explores how the SFU research community is engaging and innovating to respond to the COVID-19 outbreak.

In this episode, SFU Health Sciences Professor Julia Smith joins Johnson in a discussion on how the pandemic is impacting genders differently.

Her research, funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, finds that women are experiencing higher rates of anxiety and stress and how this can be addressed through improved policies that address structural inequities in outbreak response.
