Mathematician wins Dahlquist prize

SFU mathematician Steve Ruuth has received the Germund Dahlquist Prize from the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics in recognition of his outstanding contributions to numerical analysis and scientific computing. Ruuth is an applied mathematician whose work has had a profound impact in computational practice. He is currently the site director at the SFU location of the Pacific Institute for the Mathematical Sciences.

This is totally awesome! The SIAM Dahlquist prize is a major honour, and this is the first time it's come to Canada. Who needs the Stanley Cup?
