Most SFU NOW courses take place at Harbour Centre (look for the observation deck at the top of the building), which is across the street from Waterfront Station, the main transit terminus for the SeaBus, SkyTrain and West Coast Express.

How do I get to SFU's Vancouver campus?

Our Vancouver campus is easily accessible by public transit or car. If you take transit to Waterfront Station, walk south across Cordova Street to Harbour Centre. You can also reach Harbour Centre from Seymour and Hastings streets.

Where can I park my car?

There is no SFU parking at Harbour Centre. Nearby parking lots include 450 W Cordova Street, between Richards and Homer. This lot offers a reduced parking rate to SFU Continuing Studies students with a valid parking pass from Monday to Friday. To obtain a pass, visit Continuing Studies reception during office hours. The rates are as follows:

Monday to Friday

  • Arrive between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m., leave between 6 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.: $6
  • Arrive between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m., leave between 6 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.: $3

Saturday

  • No student discount. All day: $6

You may also use the Harbour Centre underground parkade after 6 p.m. on weekdays or all day Saturdays, Sundays and statutory holidays.

Where can I lock up my bike?

Bicycle racks are available at Harbour Centre's Hastings Street entrance.

How do I find the classroom or lecture theatre?

If you are taking a course, refer to your confirmation letter for the room number. When you are on campus, consult the electronic directory located next to the Samuel and Frances Belzberg library near the Hastings Street entrance. The Campus Security desk, which is located on the main floor next to Registrar and Information Services, can help you with directions.

Where can I buy my textbooks?

Once you have registered for a course, we will notify you of any required textbooks, and you can purchase them from the SFU Bookstore.

Can I get an escort to the parkade or Waterfront Station after an evening class or lecture?

SFU's Safe Walk Program offers an escort to Waterfront Station, the Cordova Street parkade, or anywhere else within a two-block radius of the Harbour Centre building. To use this service, visit the Campus Security desk, which is located on the main floor next to Registrar and Information Services, call 778-782-5029, or dial 12 from a classroom phone.

Can I purchase lunch or dinner on campus?

Our Vancouver campus's main building is located above Harbour Centre Mall, which offers several quick-service meal options in the food court. There are also many restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance of Harbour Centre.

SFU’s Surrey campus

SFU's Surrey campus, featuring state-of-the-art architecture and facilities, is part of Surrey’s Central City building, an award-winning shopping, business and education complex. Look for the large office tower. The campus is conveniently located next to the Surrey Central SkyTrain station.

SFU's Surrey campus has no free parking, but there is paid parking on Level 5 of the parkade, directly behind the Central City Tower. Besides this parkade, there are several other pay parking lots nearby.

You may not park on Levels 1 to 4 or in the mall parking lot to attend an SFU event or class.

Is SFU's Surrey campus wheelchair-accessible?

SFU Surrey is accessible to everyone with mobility difficulties. Students who use wheelchairs should park on Level 5 of the parkade, take the elevator down to Level 3, and exit left into the open parking area. Enter the university from there and take the elevator to all three classroom levels: three, four and five.
