An evening of Song and Dance with Coastal Wolf Pack (Musqueam) Children of Takaya (Tsleil-Waututh) Ta Na Wa Káwstem (Squamish)!
As we welcome the changing of seasons, Kwi Awt Stelmexw would like to invite you to gather for an evening of good food, good company and performances by all three of the greater Vancouver host nations, Tsleil-Waututh, Musqueam and Squamish.
At this event, Kwi Awt Stelmexw (KAS) will be announcing and fundraising for our spring 2018 plans to host the first ever annual Salishology summit where we will gather Indigenous people from all over to share knowledge and learn from Coast Salish practitioners in their fields of culture and expertise such as plant knowledge, weaving, water protection and direct action, language revitalization etc. KAS is a Squamish non-profit that is focused on language and cultural revitalization.
Please come and enjoy this evening with us and help support us in our goal to bring together the knowledge keepers of this territory, to showcase our diverse intelligence and love of who we are as Coast Salish peoples. There will be food, performances and a silent auction to enjoy.
The evening starts at 6:00 pm for a Reception and Silent Auction, where there will be free light snacks. The performances will start at 7:00 pm. This event is in partnership with SFU's Vancity Office of Community Engagement.
*there will be seating available during the reception.
We will be holding our AGM from 4:30-5:30 pm in the boardroom on the same floor as the event. All are welcomed, refreshments will be provided. Please email us to confirm and to get further details at firstname.lastname@example.org.
