Showcasing over 70 films from more than 10 countries, with themes ranging from the histories of local “troublemakers”, films centering on two-spirit stories, and beautiful narratives set against the backdrop of the opera. With over 100 films from over 25 countries, the Festival celebrates the best in independent queer cinema and facilitates a unique community space through a variety of performances, panels and workshops
SFU Woodward’s Cultural Programs proudly celebrates 7th years of collaboration with VQFF, working to advance societal issues surrounding gender and identity to the benefit of all communities.
This year we are thrilled to co-present the Queer Families Spotlight Partner. We either are born into families or chose to create one. These familial relationships by birth or choice come with unique challenges revealing the depth of commitment and affection we willing make to these essential bonds.
In collaboration with SFU School for the Contemporary Arts, SFUW Cultural Programs along with School for the Contemporary are delighted to support the TROUBLEMAKERS 4.0 initiative. The image at the top explains why. Celebrating who we are forever comfortable in our own skin is a vital to our collective happiness.
