Join us May 27th to celebrate the launch of Voices of the Street, Megaphone's annual literary edition! This anthology features work from 31 writers marginalized by homelessness and poverty, including participants in Megaphone's creative writing community workshops.
You're in for a treat. The night will feature heartfelt stories, readings from a handful of Voices of the Street writers. This event is a beautiful combination of the tenderness, humour and grit that makes the Megaphone community special.
And this year, we have reduced the ticket price from $15 to just $8. Though the ticket prices helps us cover costs for this project, it is important to us that income is not a barrier. If you'd like to attend and cost is a barrier, please get in touch with us.
This event sells out every year. Get your ticket early to avoid disappointment!
6:00-6:30: snacks and refreshments
6:30-8:30: readings, stories and music
Voices of the Street will be available for purchase from Megaphone vendors for $10 (cash or with the Megaphone cashless payment app available for iPhone and Android).
- SFU Woodwards World Art Centre is fully wheelchair accessible: there is a ramp to access the building entrance, automatic button-activated doors, and an elevator to the second floor. We will gladly set aside seating areas for attendees with wheelchairs, scooters and mobility devices.
- Washrooms will be gender-neutral.
- This is a scent reduced space. Please refrain from wearing fragrances. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee a space that is 100% scent-free.
Please get in touch if you have further or more specific accessibility questions. Contact Greta at email@example.com or call 604-255-9701 Ext 153.
