Bill Reid Gallery New Exhibition

Bill Reid Gallery for Northwest Coast Art new exhibition "Intangible: Memory and Innovation in Coast Salish Art" Opening September 12th, 6 PM

Six contemporary artists make profound statements about Indigenous rights, land, and sovereignty through their work. This exhibition celebrates a distinct yet intangible connection between contemporary practice and the traditional Coast Salish art of the past.

It features 6 videos created by SIAT students in our Moving Images (IAT344) class who collaborated with curators Sharon Fortney and Beth Carter to create short video documentaries featuring each of the exhibiting artists. The documentaries are featured as a part of the exhibition itself. Congratulations to the students and enormous thanks to TA Aynur Kadir!
