Biography
Gemma Malagon earned her BSc. in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Tecnológico de Monterrey, Mexico in 2020. During this time, she gained practical experience from internships and research projects across the globe. She has experience in clinical and sports biomechanics, neuromuscular control, gait analysis, rehabilitation, and injury prevention protocols. Gemma is currently an MSc student in the Sensorimotor Neuroscience Lab at Simon Fraser University under the supervision of Dr. Dan Marigold. Her research investigates sensorimotor adaptation and strategies to enhance motor learning for rehabilitation interventions. In her free time, Gemma enjoys CrossFit, hiking, and scuba diving.
