SA Undergraduate Students Present at "Sharing Voices, Building Communities" Conference
Congratulations to two SFU sociology students for presenting papers at the 2nd Annual Sociology Undergraduate Student Conference at Kwantlen College: Sharing Voices Building Communities held October 12, 2012.
Jessica Lee, 4th year: ‘A Critical Review of the Intersecting Social, Political and Economic Forces Faced by Non-Profit Organizations in Canada’ (panel on Inequalities, Class and Strategies), and
Lee Van Wagoner,4th year: ‘Aboriginal Health in BC: Intersectionality in Political Discourse’ (panel on Aboriginal Identity and Health).
Lee Van Wagoner is also about to embark on a 'study abroad' at Lund University in Sweden, where she will undertake further study in social policy.
The presentations were results of term papers in SA 340 Social Issues & Social Policy Analysis class (spring 2012) taught by sessional instructor and SFU Special Arrangement PhD candidate Rachel Treloar.
