Concerned with the physical characteristics and behaviour of sound (see acoustics), rather than its perception (see psychoacoustics).
- Concerned with the manipulation and control of sound in a physical, non-electronic way, such as an acoustic
guitar, which physically amplifies, or an acoustic tile, which physically attenuates, sound.
- Pertaining to the sense of hearing, such as in acoustic trauma.
