RANGE
Acoustics / Electroacoustics

A continuous section of the possible values of a PARAMETER.

For instance, the singing range refers to that part of the FREQUENCY continuum which can be realized by a singer; the audio range refers to the AUDIO FREQUENCY range between 20 and 20,000 Hz which is audible by humans.

See: BASS, TREBLE.

A range of frequencies is also called a SPECTRUM, as in the audio spectrum or RADIO SPECTRUM.

See: BAND, DYNAMIC RANGE, INFRASONIC, ULTRASONIC.
