REEL 89 COMMENTARY

General Remarks: Inside a large rink, big reverberation. There were two games going on at the time, so the rhythms of each one are not perfectly clear. One player has a new broom made of synthetic fibre: it makes a loud wholloping sound in distinct contrast to the gentle noise of the old straw brooms.

1. 7'15" heavy sweeping sounds from new artificial broom. 7'45" yelling. 8'25" new broom again. 9'00" peak of excitement, followed by a lull.

2. Microphones closer to the rocks here. 4'00" yells, sweeping, crash of rocks. 5'45" lull in action -- discussion. 6'30" yelling -- pooouk! boom.... 7'50" arranging rocks for the next "end".
