FOLDER 11 COMMENTARY

1. Standing just north of the Steam Clock (NE corner of intersection), street busker across the street on the east side playing a Pearl Jam tune at the outset, bell at 0:58, keynote of traffic, voices of tourists stopping to take photos @ (and with) the Steam Clock, loud car stereo at 2:10, busker begins to play "Rocketman" at 2:20, 3:00 - change jangling in someone's hand as they pass, at 5:20 someone says 'whistle will blow in 2 mins', music stops at 5:35, horn from the harbour at 6:30, 6:45 - countdown and steam whistle, 7:25 - busker begins to play "You've got to hide your love away", loud whistle at 8:08.

2. Corner of Powell, Carrall and Water St, traffic sounds, various footsteps and voices, hammering/construction in the distance, cars travelling over interlocked road is evident, truck passes at 1:58, 2:40 someone rolls a metal grocery basket past, distant seagulls at 3:20, 3:28 car wheels squeak over stones because of a sharp turn.

3. Soundwalk beginning on the north side of Water street across from Gassy Jack walking west, crow at 0:15, traffic sounds throughout, footsteps of passersby spread throughout, seaplane at 1:00, truck at 1:20, conversation quickly passes at 1:30, conversation at 2:08, another seaplane at 2:40, water dripping from roof at 2:50, 4:30 - electroacoustic voice from a commercial space, teenager on a skateboard passes at 4:50, voice at 6:00.
