REEL 8 COMMENTARY

1. More or less capacity audience. Occasional bits of conversation from the people sitting in front of the microphones. Recordists were sitting at the main mezzanine level, about 50-75 feet above the circus floor. Whirring sounds in the background are from toy birds twirled on strings by people walking in the main concourse behind the microphones. The ringmaster has a great bouncy tenor voice, fine show-biz style. Music played almost continuously throughout. This take opens with amplified music in progress and whip cracking of the ringmaster.
