Campus Security offers a number of safety programs designed to keep our community safe and secure. The Personal Security Office encourages the community to utilize the services offered when necessary.

Safe Walk

Need an escort? Campus Security is available 24 hours a day to provide you with either a student patroller or a security officer who will take you to your campus destination. 

Lone Worker

If you’re working on campus after hours, contact Campus Security and let them know your location and the time you expect to finish. They will be able to check on you if an emergency occurs. Also review SFU Policy GP 39 Working Alone or in Isolation.

Emergency Phones

Located across Burnaby campus in over 100 locations are direct-dial Emergency Phones. In case of emergency, push the red button and Campus Security will be notified of your location 

Transit Safety

Campus Security works closely with Transit Police so that you can get to and from campus safely.

Campus Crime Stoppers

A student-run program that highlights crimes on campus and offers rewards for information. 

Student Safety Engagement Program

A student-run program that assists SRS in providing a safe learning environment for the campus community through patrols, outreach, and information. 

Operation Provident

Engravers and hard-to-peel decals can be signed out free of charge for community members to mark their personal property. If you live in residence, identify your belongings by marking them with an identification number (i.e. student number).

If you’re having car trouble, a battery Booster Pak, maps and phones are available at Campus Security.

Lock Out Auto Crime

Campus Security is taking a proactive role to help reduce auto crime. Parking lot audits and information displays are conducted regularly.
