Hot work
Hot work refers to any activity with an open flame or spark generating potential.
Before conducting Hot work activities at Simon Fraser University, all contractors and trades must attend an orientation session. Hot work permits are available at the Facilities Services building or Discovery 1 building from the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) representative. A 24 hour request notice must be provided to SFU EHS before permits are issued.
