Conference on Active and Healthy Aging 2019

The Conference on Active and Healthy Aging 2019 themes involved approaches, technologies and services in support of active and healthy aging. Care professionals, developers, suppliers and scientists were encouraged to share ideas and results from developing and implementing solutions for prevention, rehabilitation, empowerment of and care for older adults. Experts from Europe, North America and Asia reported on recent developments and achievements within socio-technical efforts to improve care as well as ethical dilemmas between the duty to protect privacy and the duty to empower and provide care for often frail elderly citizens.
The EU project REACH and the Innovation Network, Danish Healthtech, invited exhibitors and delegates to the exhibition session May 15th where innovative activities, projects and solutions in health technology and medical devices for active and healthy ageing were demonstrated.
STAR Institute Director Andrew Sixsmith is a REACH 2020 Advisory Board member and was asked to present during the conference - Responding to the Challenge of Aging - The Canadian AGE-WELL Network of Centres of Excellence.
