Through the Age-friendly Capacity Building program, BC Healthy Communities' (BCHC) provides support, expertise and resources for health authorities, local governments and other key stakeholders to build age-friendly communities. The program aims to enhance collaboration between these entities so communities are able to reach their age-friendly community goals. For more information about BCHC and their projects visit the BC Healthy Communities website.
Thanks to the Age-friendly Communities Grant Program the Village of Lytton has moved forward on a Housing Needs and Demands Study, with the goal of ensuring seniors and elders have the support they need to live to the fullest. As older adults age-in-place, they require not only continued access to local services, community, culture, and family but also a place where they are safe, one that they can call home.
