Baker Drive Elementary - Tuesday June 23 2009

We hosted 45 Grade 4/5 kids from Baker Drive Elementary, led by teachers Sandi Gibson and Karen Booth, with five parents. What a great workshop, on many levels! The kids were exceptionally knowledgeable, and fully engaged in all the activities and Q&A sessions. We also had a special book prize (donated by volunteer Pouyan) for the student who best answered the question "What is a Black Hole?": the winner gave a superb answer! The group was also treated to lunch and liquid Nitrogen ice-cream (thanks to Dr. Sophie Lavieri and Dr. Becky Goyan). Special thanks to our great team of volunteers Aaron Berndsen, Alireza Hojjati, Payam Mousavi, Pouyan Khalili, and Kathy Porter!
