Starry Nights @ SFU: Astro Grads!
South Delta Home Learners - Thursday June 25 2009

We hosted 60 kids of all ages from the South Delta Home Learners, along with about 20 parents. This active group really knew their stuff, and stumped me with a question about a bright star at the edge of our star field! In addition to the astronomy workshop, our guests were treated to a very full day of Science in Action activities, including lunch and liquid Nitrogen ice-cream, thanks to Dr. Sophie Lavieri, and a great Chemistry show by Dr. Zuo-Guang Ye and Dr. Lavieri. Special thanks to our great team of volunteers Laleh Samii, Maysam Emadi, Saeed Saberi, Gong-Bo Zhao, Alireza Hojjati, and Leigh Cummings of the Vancouver Centre of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada.
