Starry Nights @ SFU: Astro Grads!
Lord Tennyson Elementary - Tuesday June 16 2009

We hosted a group of 42 kids from two Grade 3 French Immersion classes from Lord Tennyson, led by their teachers Diana Leong and Annie Cassells, with about 6 parents. Much of the workshop was held in French, and these young students demonstrated a great deal of knowledge of astronomy, and did so admirably in our second national language! They also participated gamely in all the activities, as did our adult guests! The group was also treated to pizza lunch and liquid Nitrogen ice-cream (with thanks to Dr. Sophie Lavieri and Dr. Becky Goyan for that!). Special thanks to volunteers Grace Min, Jun-Qi Guo, Aaron Berndsen, Michel Trottier-McDonald, and Susan Yeung.
