December 10 2011:
Our biggest workshop ever!
The images and links below include about half of the other workshops that were held for the 2009 International Year of Astronomy (IYA). The list runs backwards from the October to the very first SFU IYA workshop, held on March 6. About twenty workshops have been held since the IYA, and I've only posted one of them above :(-. Well, there's always more to be done! Although the workshop program was much less active in 2011, look for the program to take off again in a big way later in 2012, once construction of the SFU observatory and science outreach centre project gets underway!
Two of our December 2009 workshops were our largest of the IYA!
For the last month of the 2009 International Year of Astronomy - the IYA - we went all out, holding 4 workshops for a total of 12 schools, several home-schooling groups, with over 600 kids and about 100 adult chaperons attending! December also featured our two largest workshops of the IYA, with over 150 kids in each. Here's an account of those last days of our IYA program, including some pictures that give a good sense of what it was like!
Family workshop with over 200 guests! June 28 2010.
