- Jack Horkheimer: Star Gazer: A regular feature on some Public Broadcasting Stations. Horkheimer is the wacky director of the Miami Space Transit Planetarium, and he hosts a delightful 5 minute weekly digest on what you can see in the sky with the naked eye. Check out Horkheimer's recent episodes.
- Vancouver-area weather forecasts: Environment Canada and Vancouver Clear-Sky Clock.
- Royal Astronomical Society of Canada: An association of mainly amateur astronomers, with 26 centres across Canada, the RASC publishes the superb annual Observer's Handbook, a "bible" of useful information for amateur observers.
- Vancouver chapter of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada: they have regular meetings open to the public, sponsor guest speakers, and are committed to serving the Vancouver-area public with an interest in astronomy.
- Two fabulous books on astronomical CCD imaging and image processing have been written by Ron Wodaski: The New CCD Astronomy, and The NewAstro Zone System.
- Sky & Telescope magazine: One of the leading monthly magazines used by amateur astronomers, including articles on new developments in Astronomy.
- SkyNews is an excellent Canadian magazine for amateur astronomers, published bimonthly.
- Astronomy magazine is another leading monthly magazine, possibly more accessible to beginning amateur astronomers than Sky & Tel.
- A timely on-line observer's guide to current highlights of the night sky from Sky&Telescope.
- Space.com is a good source of the latest news in astronomy and space science.
- The student-based society SEDS (Students for the Exploration and Development of Space) is an excellent source of information on amateur observations of the night sky.
- Hubble Space Telescope web site includes fantastic educational and public interest resources.
- Hubble Heritage Project contains a fabulous collection of some of the telescope's most beautiful images: some of these images were taken in response to suggestions from the public.
- NASA's Jet Propulsion Lab web site features breaking news & a wealth of information on interplanetary spacecraft and other probes of the universe.
- JPL's Planetary Photojournal features images and information on the Sun and planets.
- Introduction to Astronomy, Physics 190, an SFU introductory survey course designed for non-science students.
