Admission deferral request

  1. You must pay SFU's non-refundable confirmation deposit for the term of your original offer; the deposit will not be refunded if your deferral request is denied.
  2. If your offer is conditional, your deferral request will be reviewed once we receive your final grades.
  3. You may only request a deferral of your admission once.
  4. You may request a deferral for up to one full year and to any of the terms within that year.
  5. You may not attend another post-secondary institution during your deferral term(s).
  6. Deferral requests for Entrance Scholarships, Awards and Bursaries will be considered on a case by case basis. Please contact before submitting the deferral request.

It is my responsibility to ensure that I drop all courses for the term to which I was originally admitted, otherwise I will be responsible for any and all tuition assessments and penalties. I further understand that if l enroll in transferable courses at another postsecondary institution during my deferment, my admission deferral will become void and I will be required to reapply to Simon Fraser University.
