Welcome to Career and Volunteer services. My name is Ritvik Shah and I am a Computer Science student at Simon Fraser University.
As a research assistant for the career coordinator at my former high school in Kenya, I gained a lot of insight into the different career paths and how one can pursue them. This experience helped me develop an interest in aiding other students in making career choices, which motivated me to join the career peer team. Moreover, living in Kenya gave me the opportunity to volunteer hundreds of hours while developing a vast skill set.
I am fascinated by the marriage of technology and people; how we use technology, what we use it for, how we can make it better and etc. It shapes a lot of the work I do, as well as how I spend a lot of my free time. Other less productive things that I like to do in my free time consist of watching Netflix, listening to music and playing soccer. I also like to read books from time to time, mainly non-fiction and self development books.
It is a pleasure to be a part of the Career Peer team, and I hope that I can aid you in making vital decisions regarding your future career and in preparing you for the work-life.
