Spring 2013 term deadlines

Spring term starts January 7; last day of exams is April 24.

There is a Reading Break from Tuesday, February 12 through Saturday, February 16. (The Family Day holiday is on Monday, February 11.)

Enrollment appointments begin online November 5, 2012; open enrollment begins November 24.

Classes: add/swap/change tutorial

January 11 (Friday) Last day to add classes, swap classes, change tutorials using the Student Information System
January 18 (Friday) Last day to enroll for class challenge or switch your challenge from one class to another or regular enrollment in a class, with permission of the department. (You can’t withdraw from class challenge without substituting a regular class.)
January 25 (Friday) Last day to add classes through the department, with permission of the chair and instructor. Last day to change tutorials through the department. Last day to change a class to audit status.

January 11 (Friday) Last day to completely withdraw from all classes using the Student Information System, with no notation on your academic record.
January 25 (Friday) Last day to drop a class using the Student Information System, with no Withdrawal notation on your academic record. If withdrawing from all classes, a Withdrawal notation (WD) will be added to your academic record.
February 8 (Friday) Last day to drop a class using the Student Information System, with a Withdrawal notation (WD) on your academic record.
April 5 (Friday) Last day to apply to drop classes in the current term under extenuating circumstances (WE). (Applications received after this date will be considered retroactive and may take longer to process.)

Fees: payment and refunds/penalties

Payment
January 18 (Friday) Deadline to pay tuition and student fees. A 2% late fee penalty will be assessed after the due date and on the first of each month thereafter.
February 22 (Friday) Deadline to pay Co-op Practicum fees.
Refunds/penalties
November 30 (Friday) Last day for 100% refund of tuition.
December 1 (Saturday) to January 11 (Friday) Penalty of $50 for each class dropped (maximum total penalty $100) during this period, if your net course load has decreased.
January 12 (Saturday) to January 18 (Friday) Penalty of $100 for each class dropped during this period, if your net course load has decreased.
January 19 (Saturday) No refund for courses dropped. A tuition drop penalty will be calculated and posted to your student account in the third week of classes. View your student account after September 19 for your outstanding balance. A 2% late fee penalty will be assessed after the due date and on the first of each month thereafter.
February 22 (Friday) after 2:30pm Refund cheques REQUESTED for overpayment, which are NOT related to scholarships and bursaries, are available for pickup, UNLESS payment has been made by personal cheque, which requires a 45 day clearance period.

January 11 (Friday) Deadline for submitting an application for exemption from U-Pass BC.

December 10 (Monday) Class material pickup begins.
February 12, 2013 (Tuesday) Deadline to return class material for applicable material refund.

Financial aid

November 5-23 (Monday to Friday) Work-study application period.
December 31, 2012 to January 18, 2013 (Monday to Friday) Bursary only application period
January 18 (Friday) Deadline for application for private scholarships

Grades online

December 10 (Monday) Grades from Fall 2012 term begin to be posted online.
April 12 (Friday) Grades from Spring 2013 term begin to be posted online.

Graduation application/cancellation

January 7 (Monday) Deadline to cancel application to graduate in June 2013 convocation ceremonies, if you are completing degree requirements in the Fall 2012 term.
February 15 (Friday) Deadline to apply for the early application fee on the Student Information System for graduation in June 2013 convocation ceremonies, if you are completing degree requirements in Spring 2013 term. ($35 for degree, $20 for certificate, and $20 for diploma.)
April 12 (Friday) Final deadline to apply for the regular application fee on the Student Information System for graduation in June 2013 convocation ceremonies, if you are completing degree requirements in Spring 2013 term. ($85 for degree, $70 for certificate, and $70 for diploma.)

May 6 (Monday) Deadline to cancel application to graduate in June 2013 convocation ceremonies, if you are completing degree requirements in Spring 2013 term.
