PLAN YOUR VISIT
Make the most of your time on campus by reviewing the schedule of activities and presentations available at Information Evening. Drop in any time during the event to check out what interests you and see all that SFU has to offer.
Some food services are available during the event, but you may wish to plan dinner before or after your visit.
Free parking is available in East Lot, and our volunteers will greet you and direct you to the event. See further information on parking and transit.
The event takes place indoors and outdoors, under cover — please come prepared for the weather.
SFU Residence is offering future student residents the opportunity to experience one night in Residence. Accommodation options range from first year tower residences, townhouses and the Simon Hotel. Those who sleep over in Residence will also have the opportunity to meet Residence Life Community Advisors (CAs) and purchase a meal at the Residence Dining Hall. More information here.
The Education Fair will take place between 5PM - 8PM, in the Academic Quandrangle, Diamond Family Auditorium, WAC Bennett Library, and Maggie Benston Centre. Visit over 100 tables managed by staff, faculty, and current students to learn more about programs, services, and resources for SFU students.
Faculty and Student Services presentations will be taking place throughout the evening. Check out the schedule, and plan your visit so you can attend the ones you are interested in.
Campus and Residence Tours
Our tour guides will be running condensed tours of campus for you to see what life is like as a student. In addition, tour guides from Residence and Housing will also have tours of dorm rooms available.
The Trottier Observatory and courtyard will be open for guests to visit and see the state-of-the-art technology, star charts, and a weather-permitting view of Jupiter.
Look out for the folks from SFU2017 and other social media platforms who will be capturing the evening's activities, and be sure to visit the selfie station. Any photography and/or video recorded by Simon Fraser University at this event for archival, educational, and related promotional purposes. By attending or participating in these events, you are giving your consent to be photographed and/or video recorded. If you do not wish to be photographed and/or video recorded, please let us know and move to the side prior to the shoot.

What is Information Evening?
On Thursday, May 25 as we welcomed over 1300 new students and their guests to campus. The evening's activities will included a fair with all of our academic programs and student services, presentations from keynote speakers, and an opportunity to visit our campus bookstore to grab some new clothes and accessories to show your SFU spirit!
For the last twenty-three years, Information Evening has laid a foundation for students who have been admitted to SFU, allowing them to learn more about their chosen programs and welcoming them to our SFU community.
