Mindfulness Meditation

Mindfulness Meditation is a free drop-in class open to SFU students, faculty, and staff

Connect with your body, relax your mind, and discover tools for bringing more calm and ease into your life. Each session includes mindfulness practice, information on habits of mind, and the opportunity for a brief discussion about the practice.

No previous experience is necessary.

We are currently offering Mindfulness Meditation drop-ins through Zoom. The times of the offerings can be found below. Please select the "Join Zoom session now" button between two and five minutes before the session is scheduled to begin, and ensure your microphone remains muted once you have successfully joined the meeting. Sessions begin promptly at 12:30pm.

We look forward to practicing with you!

By clicking on the Zoom link and joining Mindfulness Meditation, I am consenting to the following:

  • I am aware that this session is not counselling.

  • I acknowledge that I can find SFU counselling resources, as well as external resources at https://www.sfu.ca/students/health/ and can access this information, on my own, at any time.

  • I am aware that I can also speak to the facilitator(s) at the end of the session or at the start of the next session in order to obtain recommendations for additional mental health resources.

  • I understand that my attendance will be used to track participation in group offerings by SFU’s Health and Counselling Services.

  • I am committed to honouring confidentiality: what happens in the group stays in the group. I will not speak about who attends this group or the experiences others share in the group and will act within reasonable expectations to maintain the confidentiality of all group participants.

  • For confidentiality reasons, I will display whatever name on Zoom I am comfortable sharing with others (i.e. omit last name if preferred) and will add my pronouns should I wish.
