Below is information specific to each service offered at SFU Health & Counselling Services:
STEP 1 - Counselling appointments can be made once the initial client intake paperwork has been completed.
In order to complete this paperwork, please visit the Burnaby or Vancouver campus in person (at whichever your preferred location will be) on Monday to Friday, from 9:00am to 4:30 pm.
For appointments at the Surrey campus, please call 778-782-5200 in order to have the intake papework emailed to you.
STEP 2 - Once the paperwork has been received, you can book your first appointment in person (Burnaby and Vancouver only) or by telephone:

If your concerns are urgent, please visit our Burnaby clinic and notify reception when you arrive. Emergencies are seen on a same-day basis. For after-hours emergencies, please contact the Crisis Centre of BC: 604-872-3311 or toll free at 1-800-784-2433.

Health Clinic Services
Appointments with a doctor or nurse can be made at our Burnaby Clinic between the hours of 9:00 am – 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday (the last appointment of the day is at 4:00 pm). Please call 778-782-4615. Same day appointments can be booked based on availability.
Appointments with a doctor can be made at our Vancouver clinic between the hours of 9:30 am — 5:00 pm, Tuesday to Friday (last appointment of the day is at 4:30pm). On Mondays, no doctor is available but staff are available to book appointments. Please call 778-782-5200. Same day appointments can be booked based on availability.

For appointments with Counselling Services, at least 48 hours notice must be given for cancellations or a $25 fee will be charged. For all other clinic appointments, there is a $25 fee charged for no shows and cancellations with less than 24 hours notice.
Appointments must be cancelled by phone; please call 778-782-4615 for appointments at SFU Burnaby Campus and 778-782-5200 for appointments at the Vancouver and Surrey campuses.
Please remember to bring your Care Card with you when visiting any HCS Health Clinic.
The physicians at Health and Counselling Services or anywhere else do not have the authority to exempt students from exams, assignments, etc. Whether an exemption occurs is up to the instructor and should be based upon a conversation between the instructor and the student seeking a change to course requirements. For FIC Students:
Fraser International College's policy states that you do not need a sick note from a doctor for minor, short term illnesses (like a cold or flu) that prevent you from attending class or writing an exam.
