Senior Community Leaders

Hey everyone! My name is Catherine, and I am a fourth-year student in Business with a concentration in Human Resources Management. I love meeting new people and helping people; I would be so happy just knowing that I helped to make someone's day better, so feel free to reach out to me when you need emotional support or just want someone to talk to. I also love music and just art in general, so come and chat with me when you need some music recommendations! I am so excited to meet you all soon.

Hi everyone! My name is Jaskaren and I am a 4th year Psychology Student. I am beyond excited and grateful to be a Community Leader. Being in a new environment can definitely be overwhelming, not to mention the added stress of school, I therefore hope to eliminate any concerns or confusion any might having with being new to SFU or the Lower Mainland. I look forward to connecting with and meeting you all!

Hi folks! My name is Narges and I am from Iran. I am in my second year, majoring in Communication and minoring in Business. In my free time, I like going for a run, reading books, and watching movies and tv shows. I have also been cooking and baking a lot during the past year, aka the quarantine. I am excited to meeting you all and maybe sharing some recipes!

Hi everyone! My name is Nelly and I am a fourth year Biomedical Physiology major. I really enjoy enjoying the outdoors, exploring new places around the lower mainland, listening to music and cooking. Through the Global Connections Program I have been able to meet amazing people and connect with new opportunities and resources around campus that I never had discovered before the program. I am really looking forward to the new year and meeting everyone!

Hi everyone! I am a fourth-year Business student, and I'm really excited to continue being a part of the Global Connections Program again this year. I came to Canada four years ago, and to be honest, the Program has helped me out a lot since then. I got to know new people, new connections and sought a lot of advice from them in both my academic studies and my life. Sounds interesting? Curious about this? If yes, I would love to see you soon. I hope that the Program can help the SFU incoming students, as much as we can!

Hi everyone! I am a second year Communications major student, hoping to do a minor in International studies or maybe in Business. Being an international student myself, and starting off university in the unprecedented times, I felt inspired to share my experience. Getting involved in SFU's community and meeting new people gives me the opportunity to make connections, eased my transition to university and fulfill my desire to talk a lot. Hope to learn some new cultures and find the threads of connection with some of you.
