SFU Surrey expansion

Simon Fraser University’s Surrey campus has been part of the Surrey centre community since its opening 16 years ago.  In 2019, a new building will add to this dynamic.

A social and economic driver for Surrey, Simon Fraser University is expanding its presence in the city’s downtown core with a new building that will house a new Sustainable Energy Engineering program, launching in Fall 2019.

The expansion will help to address growing workforce needs for graduates in key fields such as clean technology and is aimed at making B.C. a leader in the field. Students will be career ready and equipped with skills in critical growth sectors, with future expansion phases aimed at health and creative technologies. SFU’s expansion will also help meet the increasing demand for accessible post-secondary education south of the Fraser.
