  • In 2016/2017 SFU Burnaby decreased water consumption by 29% (483,875 m3) from 2009/10 levels.

 

  • In 2014/2015, SFU diverted 75% of total landfill waste; 2016/2017 SFU diverted 55% of operational landfill waste.

  • SFU has 254 undergraduate courses and 119 graduate courses that include sustainability.
  • In 2016/2-17 SFU had 59 Student Sustainability Peers and Educators.

 

  • Most SFU students and employees take public transit, carpool, cycle and walk.
  • In 2016/2017 1.9% of SFU’s total operational GHG emissions came from its vehicle fleets.

  • In 2014/15, 5% of SFU’s Continuing Studies courses addressed sustainability and 2,500 people from the community attended free sustainability-themed lectures.
