Flash: Principals of Interaction Design
This lesson we will start by going through several websites that have well excecuted interaction design. We will highlight some of the things they are doing well, and then proceed to tell you how you can design with user interaction in mind.
Skills:
We will show you how to apply the theory we teach in this class to your websites in flash. We will show you how to make preloaders, mode indicators, roll overs, labels, and how to give the user feedback at all times.
Concepts:
We will be discussing the concepts of Mental models: Users - Clients - Desigers, and how we can use these to create user friendly interfaces. We will talk about Mapping, Affordibility, Communicating Mode and Status. We will talk about the concept of goal oriented interfaces.
Exercise:
We wil go through the tutorial with you and show you some efficient ways you can apply these concepts to your flash websites using skills you already have.
Wrap-up:
We%27ll remind you of the resources available and briefly go through the ones posted. As always, there will be time for students to ask questions and play around in the software.
