The Internet - Servers, Protocols, Languages<br><br>Week 5 Lesson Plan:<br><br>This week we'll start by explaining the concept of the Internet and explain how it works.<br><br>Skills:<br>We'll explain Client/Server relationships and how a website works from a network point of view.<br><br>Concepts: <br>We will introduce the concept of protocols and explain some of the basic ones such as HTTP (Hypertext Transfer Protocol) and FTP (File Transfer Protocol).<br> <br>Exercise: <br>We'll run through a rough description of several web languages and their uses. We will cover HTML, CSS, PHP, JavaScript, ASP and MySQL.<br><br>Wrap-up: <br>We'll remind you of the resources available and briefly go through the ones posted. As well, there will be time for students to ask questions and play around in the software.
