Downloadable resources for curriculum mapping and educational goals/learning outcomes

Fiona Rawle, associate dean, undergraduate, and associate professor of biology at the University of Toronto Mississauga, spoke about a Curriculum Mapping Initiative she participated in at the Halpern Centre on April 10, 2018. Later she shared tools and resources from the initiative (see below).

When you take on a complex task, it can help to see how others have approached the same job.

On April 10, 2018, SFU’s Educational Goals–Learning Outcomes Working Group hosted a special presentation at the Halpern Centre by Fiona Rawle, associate dean, undergraduate, and associate professor of biology at the University of Toronto Mississauga (UTM).

Rawle’s talk, titled “Curriculum Mapping: How to Make It Meaningful,” focused on lessons learned from a biology-focused curriculum mapping project as well as a multidisciplinary curriculum mapping process at UTM. The challenges she and her colleagues encountered, and the solutions they discovered, are especially relevant for academic units, faculty members and staff involved in developing educational goals, assessment plans and mid-cycle review assessment reports at SFU.
