Screencasting and Video Editing: A Simple Way to Create Engaging Videos

SUMMER 2018

Thu, June 14, 2018 | 1:00–3:00
Education Building 7512, Burnaby campus

Techsmith’s Camtasia is an excellent tool for creating videos. It combines screencasting with traditional video editing in a simple, dynamic and engaging way—and it is much easier to use than other video editing software like Adobe Premiere. In this hands-on workshop, you will be introduced to Camtasia’s interface and its functionality. We will perform a microphone set-up and record a screencast with a voiceover. In addition, we will conduct some basic editing, such as cutting and placing footage, importing additional media, and adding transitions, annotations and titles, effects, behaviours and animations.

Note that we will be using Camtasia 2 for Macs and Camtasia 9 for PCs. Participants will be paired up on computers, but you may bring your own computer with Camtasia already installed if you prefer to work alone (please notify us in advance by email at tlcevent@sfu.ca if you intend to use your own computer).

Visit this site for more information on Camtasia.
