Podcasting and Audio Production

Podcasts are digital audio files that can be downloaded from the web to a computer or mobile device. They can be used for stand-alone presentations or ongoing series. With their growing popularity and relatively low production costs, podcasts are a powerful way to communicate ideas and information.

For example, they can be used by students to demonstrate their knowledge of course concepts; by instructors to communicate instructional content; or by staff to share organizational tools and resources.

In this workshop, you will learn the basics of how to use USB microphones to record audio, as well as how to edit audio via with Audacity, a free, open source software program. You will also be shown how to publish your audio recordings.

Note that TLC will supply laptops for participants to work in pairs, but you may bring your own computer with Audacity installed on it.
