Prisoners of war Often referred to as POWs or PWs, Prisoners of War are combatants who are imprisoned by an enemy power during or immediately after an armed conflict. In some of the footage available on this page, German POWs are being used as stretcher bearers to ferry the Canadian wounded in from the battlefield. |
