As water levels in B.C.'s interior continue to surge, evacuation alerts continue to grow in areas of the Fraser Valley, where residents in areas of Langley Township are under evacuation alert and parts of Chilliwack are under evacuation order, as the Fraser River continues to swell.

SFU geographer professor Jeremy Venditti has carried out research in the field, near mission, as well as experiments in his environmental fluid and sediment dynamics lab. He uses a flume channel – providing a scale model of the Fraser – to investigate flow resistance in rivers, and to learn more about potential flooding impacts. Venditti is available to provide commentary as this story develops.
