Community conversations discuss BC's economy
A series of 100 Community Conversations, designed to encourage learning and discussion for British Columbia residents on the topic of the provincial economy, will be convened as a central part of SFU Public Square’s 2013 summit, Charting BC’s Economic Future.
The conversations, taking place between September 1, and October 2, 2013, aim to encourage friends, co-workers, neighbours, institutions, and organizations large and small, to get together to share their opinions on BC's economy. Participants will be asked to provide their ideas on how to create wealth, promote social equity and protect the environment.
SFU Public Square will provide discussion, facilitation and note-taker guides to help groups self-organize and host successful dialogues. The results from these discussions will be collected and compiled into a Citizen's Agenda for BC's Economic Future.
Those interested in hosting a Community Conversation can contact Mark Friesen, firstname.lastname@example.org, before August 30.
SFU Public Square’s second annual community summit, Charting BC’s Economic Future, is scheduled for September 28, until October 4. More information is available through their website.
