The installation of Anne Giardini, Q.C., as Simon Fraser University’s 11th chancellor highlights the university’s final spring convocation ceremony this afternoon, starting at 2:30 pm.
Ms. Giardini will be installed by B.C. Lieutenant-Governor the Hon. Judith Guichon, OBC. Following the installation she will address convocation.
A forestry executive, lawyer and writer, Ms. Giardini has been president of Weyerhaeuser Company Limited since 2008. A long-time leader within Canada’s resource industry, she has a distinguished record of community service and strong ties with SFU, as an alumna and through serving on its board of governors for the past five years.
