If you are a non-profit organization, local school, or other community-based group looking for volunteers, we would like to help.
Our priority is to support off-campus opportunities that will enrich our students' education and are connected to their skill development or academic discipline. Please check out our Volunteer Posting Decision Process to see how we determine our priorities for volunteer opportunity postings.
Volunteer Services is now using a self-serve posting system. To post your volunteer position or to get more information, go to the Symplicity log-in page.
We also recommend submitting your opportunity to sites like govolunteer.ca and VolWeb.ca, as we actively refer students to these sites in our resources and during advising sessions.
If you are looking for a student or group of students to work on a specific project, you may want to consider submitting a project proposal to one of the following programs:
- A leadership project for Certificate in Leadership students. Click here for project submission information.
- A research project for the Action Research eXchange (run by the Simon Fraser Public Interest Research Group (SFPIRG) - a student-led organization). Click here for project submission information.
We can help in a few different ways. You could:
- Have a table at the Volunteer and Community Engagement Fair held every September.
- Submit a story to be profiled on our blog. If you are interested in this option, please send an email to volunteer@sfu.ca for more information.
Work Integrated Learning can fill all of your recruitment needs at SFU. Services include:
- Career Services for posting a job to SFU students and alumni or recruiting on campus.
- Co-operative Education for hiring Co-op students for a 4- or 8-month paid work semester during their degree
