Institutional Research and Planning

Institutional Research and Planning is the analysis and planning arm of the University which provides quantitative and qualitative information descriptive of the activities of the University.

The mandate of the Institutional Research and Planning office includes planning and coordinating the:

  • collection
  • organization
  • compilation
  • dissemination of information concerning the characteristics and performance of the institution;

providing interpretations and conclusions based on that information, and policy alternatives emerging therefrom which assist those responsible for the management of the University in making effective policy decisions;

  • statistical data
  • information
  • reports
  • and analysis to:
    • the Office of the Vice-President Academic
    • the President
    • other Vice-Presidents
    • Board of Governors
    • Senate
    • Deans
    • administrative officers and committees of the University;
  • serving as a reliable source of comprehensive and authoritative information about the institution to the media and the general public; and

  • overseeing the institution's response to provincial and national statistical surveys, questionnaires and other non-routine requests for data and information.

    The Director of the Office of Institutional Research and Planning is Dr. Jacy Lee. Her office is located in Room 2302 of Strand Hall.
