Emerging Leader in Morphological Sciences

January 01, 2012

Julian Guttman has been recognized as an “emerging leader in resolving the molecular basis of host-pathogen interactions, a field with profound potential to limit the burden of human disease,” by the American Association of Anatomists.

Dr. Guttman uses an innovative combination of morphological techniques to explore questions of microbial pathogenesis both in vitro and in intact animal model systems.

He presented an award lecture at the AAA Annual Meeting, entitled "Knocking E. Coli Off of Their Pedastals: Understanding the Strategies Microbes Exploit to Generate Morphological Structure during their Disease Processes."
