We are moving!

After a short period of very little activity due to the reorganization of the SFU Surrey campus, the Wireless Lab is moving to Nanaimo. Dr. Paris Polydorou has relocated to Malaspina University-College and the activities of the Lab are also being relocated there. New Wireless Lab website.












About the Lab

The Wireless Lab started as an applied research lab in the Faculty of Applied Sciences at Simon Fraser University (SFU) , Surrey , BC , Canada. Its purpose was to investigate emerging technologies in the following areas:

  • Wireless communications
  • Ubiquitous computing
  • Embedded systems
  • Mobile applications
  • Context-aware design issues in handheld devices

The Lab took advantage of the following research interests of the Faculty at SFU Surrey to apply technologies to real world problems using interdisciplinary research:

  • Electrical and Computer Engineering
  • Computer Science
  • Human Computer Interaction

Contributors to the Lab

We are particularly thankful to the University Relations programme of NOKIA which has generously contributed mobile phones, training and development tools to our Lab.

We also thank OPNET Technologies, Inc. which has contributed licenses of its OPNET Modeller for our network research.
