WWEST is excited to announce that registration is now open for the fifth installment of our Creating Connections conference series. Creating Connections 5.0 aims to engage industry, the community and students in BC and the Yukon to increase the regional awareness and participation of women and other under-represented groups in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM). The Creating Connections conference series hopes to facilitate meaningful dialogue, creating a space where everyone can explore and participate in STEM to better our world.

Our 2017 program underlines the value of diversity at multiple levels. To support individual change, many of our sessions are focused on providing women with skills, knowledge and support that allow them to succeed. The connect/reconnect sessions provide opportunities for meeting new people and fostering a sense of community. Finally, through the ideas discussed by our keynotes, and developed in our panels, we hope to spark a change larger than ourselves. Our session track themes for 2017 are Personal and Professional Development, Entrepreneurship and Advocating with Impact.

WWEST is also hosting the WinSETT Leadership Workshop: Networks, Mentors and Sponsors prior to the conference on-site at the Vancouver Marriott Pinnacle Downtown on Friday, May 5, 2017.
