Women in Mining BC (WIMBC) has received funding from WWEST towards 20 free tickets (each valued at $40) to the WIMBC Annual Cocktail Reception, for 20 deserving unemployed women. This is an excellent networking opportunity in the mining and mineral industry with a chance to hear from the keynote speaker Anna Tudela, Vice President, Diversity, Regulatory Affairs and Corporate Secretary, Goldcorp Inc. The WIMBC Annual Cocktail Reception is held during BC Mining Week!

When: Wednesday, May 11 5:00PM to 7:00PM
Where: Pan Pacific Hotel, Oceanview Suite, 999 Canada Place, Vancouver
Cost: $40 for general admission tickets (You can purchase tickets here)

Qualifications for a free ticket:

• You must identify as a woman and...
• You are an EIT or GIT who is unemployed
  or 
• You are a foreign-trained engineer or geoscientist in the process of obtaining their EIT or GIT

To apply for a free ticket: simply email a paragraph to Anja Lanz (daweg.chair@gmail.com) explaining:

• why you would like to be considered for the free ticket
• what you want to get out of the event by attending
• your unemployment status
• your career background and employment seeking ambitions in the mining industry
• how you will give back to the Women in Mining BC group
• outline that you can attend this event for sure.

DEADLINE for the Application:  Sunday, April 24, 2016 - midnight

You will be contacted if you are chosen to receive a free ticket. If there is an overwhelming response, a waitlist will be started and you will be notified if a ticket becomes available.
