Geering Up in collaboration with Science Al!ve are hosting this inaugural event ‘Girls Only Makeathon: Tech for Health’ to encourage high school girls to pursue Computer Science and Engineering Design, as well as help senior citizens within the community. The makeathon will include workshops, a design challenge, idea-building, and a fun atmosphere to make new friends. The goal of the makeathon is to create a “pet” robot to provide comfort and monitor the health of senior citizens.  No prior computer science experience is needed, as the workshops will teach all of the required skills.

When: Saturday, June 4 8:30AM – 6:30PM
Price: $40 – includes lunch, snacks and all materials
