Try/CATCH (Computing And Technology Conference for Her) is an outreach event for high school girls organized by the Women in Computing Science (WICS) and Women in Engineering Group (WEG) at Simon Fraser University. The one-day event will explore the difference aspects and advantages of pursuing STEM fields. Participants will get to participate in workshops, lectures, and demonstrations that will develop their skills in programming, robotics and computing science.

When: Saturday, May 28 9:00AM to 5:00PM

Who: High School girls in grades 8 to 12
Price: Free!

  9:00AM - 9:45AM: Registration and refreshments
  9:45AM -10:00AM: Keynote speech
10:00AM -12:00AM: Group A does VEX; Group B does programming
12:00AM -13:00AM: Lunch
13:00 AM -15:00AM: Group A does programming; Group B does VEX
15:00AM -15:30AM: Poster fair, refreshments
15:30AM -16:30AM: Panel discussion; co-op info session for parents
16:30AM -17:00AM: Continuation of poster fair and mingling
