The Vancouver Access Makeathon is a unique event that connects a person with a disability to a team of makers. Over the course of 48 hours, each team will build an open source assistive technology that addresses a need of the person they are paired with. Organized by the Neil Squire Society in collaboration with a number of groups (including SFU's School of Interactive Arts and Technology, UBC Women in Engineering and the Rick Hansen Foundation), this Makeathon will provide attendees with the opportunity to network, attend workshops, and address real-world needs using their knowledge and skills. Winning teams will also have the opportunity to present their work at the #BCTECH Summit in March!
